Ayumu was always a shy and unassuming guy. That was until he met Déwu Davies. She was cute and innocent always seeming to hide behind a book. She had a lot of conventional wisdom, and she made him feel like he was special and like he meant something.
Oswald was always rather loud and obnoxious. He always knew how to catch people's attention even without trying. He was intelligent, but not someone that Ayumu was particularly fond of. They were friends, but they weren't close.
However, when Oswald told Ayumu how he felt about Déwu, he was disgusted. Why should Oswald get all the attention, the girls, and popularity? It wasn't fair, and he didn't like it. For the first time in his life Ayumu raised his voice. He didn't like the idea of those two together, and his cheeks burned when Oswald asked him why.
"You like her, too?"
"Very much."
"Let the best man win."
"I intend to," Ayumu remarked, eyes narrowed.
Innocent Déwu is unaware of the intentions of both of the boys. She likes them both, and she can see herself with either one romantically. Yet right now, she wasn't all too concerned with romance. She simply liked hanging out with the pair of them. However, now all they ever seem to do is fight and bicker. They do stop when they see her coming their way, but they only get along for a few moments before arguments break out again.

- Ayumu and Oswald will always be rivals.
- Ayumu hates Oswald and vice versa.
- Déwu wishes both of her best friends could get along.
