How are Lily and James alive?
In this tale, Voldemort went straight for Harry and failed. However, Harry was scarred as per the books and the prophecy did happen along with Severus' betrayal. So Harry grew up with two loving parents (no grudging aunt and uncle).
How many characters can we have?
As many as you can handle. However, don't take on so many that you can't post with all of them. One thing that can be upsetting in an rp is getting all excited over a certain character, making plots, and then never getting to post with them.
Why is Regulus alive?
In our storyline, Reg faked his own death, and resurfaced after Voldy's demise. Unfortunately, Voldemort returned again.
So Sirius never died in the Department of Mysteries? No, he didn't.
Why can't my character be an Auror?
Well, it wouldn't make much sense considering that the DE's control the Ministry.
If my character's spouse is dead (regarding characters with children already) or they never were married, can they get married or have a girlfriend/boyfriend?
If it would be fitting to the canon. For example, I couldn't see Severus Snape getting married — he loved Lily in an obsessive and possessive way. Also, if you do this, bare in mind your character can have no further offspring. I think all the canon families are set in that regard.
Help! My favorite canon was excluded from the canon listing, why is that?
It means either they're dead or MIA. Either way, they're unplayable.
How is so and so alive?
If it isn't explained in the FAQ or the plot, they never died.
Did the Triwizard Tournament happen?
Yes, with the same results as the canon. In fact most of the canon still happened.
Did Harry still give his winnings to the Weasley twins?
Yes, even with his parents alive, he had enough gold to spare for that.
If Harry's dead, who has a hope of destroying Voldemort?
First, one would need to discover that his son is a horcrux. Secondly, it is vaguely hinted to in the plot. Don't worry, there's a subplot that reveals this mystery.
Why such a long app?
I particularly like it, and it's one of the less painful ones I've filled out. I like detail, think it can help flesh out a character from one's mind eye.
Can all of my characters have special powers?
No. So I suggest you pick only one or two to have special powers and keep it at that. Not every character in the books had a special power and that made them no less powerful than those that did. They could make up for what they lack in dueling, charms, or brains, etc.
Can my Order Supporter/Member work in the Ministry?
If you really want them to, yes. Remember, however, the DE's control the Ministry. They're bound to be harrassed mercilessly and made to witness things they rather not.
Can I change the name/gender of a canon character?
No, but if you would like a different name for them, they could always go by their middle name. As for genders, I think they're pretty balanced. I'm not changing them.
Can we add characters to the canon listing tha are original?
No, I think I have an extensive enough listing. There will be no long lost daughters or sons of Regulus, Sirius, Bellatrix, Severus, Rabastan, Remus, etc. What's on the canon listing are the only canon relateds we're allowing.
