1. Do not put obvious dislikes or dislikes, please. For example, if you applied for Lord Voldemort I would expect something a little more creative for a dislike than Harry Potter. Which isn't to say that he couldn't have that listed as a dislike - it simply shouldn't be his only dislike.
2. As far as names go, be creative or unique as you want. But I do not want any Bella's, Sirius's, etc. running around. These aren't everyday names and I've only heard of one Bellatrix outside of the HP realm. So please, be original.
3. Also, a thing to keep in mind when you're naming your character, it is typically frowned upon to name your character after a gemstone. For example having the name Ruby, Opal, or Diamond isn't something we generally like to see. Also keep in mind that commoner's wouldn't have spectacular last names and rich people wouldn't run around with a common name like Jones or Smith. Use Spanish, Greek, Roman, French, and English names. You can also use the name of flowers, constellations, etc. Just make sure it's an actual name and not some made-up name like Daieoaijeoaj or anything else you can come up with. Also no characters from other rps like Van Helsing, Dracula, or Alucard. This is an HARRY POTTER RP, thank you very much.
4. Everything IC on your application should be third person point of view, including the history and rp sample.
5. Please run your application through your spell check. I won't be a spelling or grammar Nazi, but as this is an intermediate-advanced rp I do expect that you would have minimal spelling errors, if any.
6. When I state that I want at least two paragraphs for something, please be sure to reach that minimum.
7. A paragraph is 5-7 complete sentences about one subject or a few inter-related subjects.
8. Please don't contradict yourself in your application. For example if Lucy has red hair and green eyes they can't suddenly morph into blonde tressses and sky-blue eyes, etc. Another example would be if you said she was sweet and then went on in another sentence about how vicious they were. They can't be both sweet and vicious.
9. To keep the board from being flooded with female characters; which tends to happen too often and something that we didn't want. . . For every two female characters you play, you must then play a male character.
10. No Mary-Sue or Gary-Stu characters. Your character is not perfect because that's not realistic. Everyone has flaws and good points. Also along these lines please don't give your character a terribly horrific and depressing past or state anywhere in your application, 'Everyone loves him/her.' Not everyone can love a person, you'll always have some enemies or people tht generally dislike your character. Don't take it personal. It's an rp. Also no originals trying to split up Canon marriages and get Lucius or anyone else for themselves. Hello. Definitely not Canon and I will flame you for it.
11. If you're playing a Canon character, then keep them as close to a Canon as humanly possible. I know it may be hard with them being older and such, however, I don't think over time their personalities would have changed drastically over the years.
12. Please do not go over nine paragraphs in history or personality or over seven for your character's appearance.
13. Please make sure that you're not too repetitive.
14. Do not plagiarize anyone elses work. Make your own application and posts, thanks. If you get caught doing this, then your account will be banned.
15. Keep all your accounts active, if you can only handle one character, just play one character!
Thank you for taking your time to read this.
